omg good point, Kristin! Another Mason Currey book in the world? YES PLEASE! The first two are among my most prized and often-read books. I consider them my old and new testaments for writing life.
Yay Mason!!! Congratulations on finishing your draft. Your candor about how unexpectedly LONG the process can be has been an inspiration and a comfort.
Congrats on turning in your ending!! I can't wait to read the new book, and as someone who has been working on a novel for five years and my upcoming craft book for 3...I relate.
Hi, Mason. I loved this edition of the newsletter. Short and sweet. I really like the first sentence you wrote from the Collier Schorr's interview. I agree with the idea that "maturing as an artist means respecting what you were able to do on instinct alone and never lose that." Once we learn or practice more of our craft, we lose some spontaneity or naivete and that's not always desirable, so I found that quote to be endearing. Thank you for this edition and congratulations on the book!
I subscribed sort of randomly, liking your bio, and I'm glad I did. I relate to this essay. I feel as if I'm reaching a new level of maturity in my art practice, finally relaxing into making whatever art I want to without an eye toward what I think will sell. Congrats on finishing your book. Massive accomplishment!
Congrats on done!! Such an achievement and can't wait to read it
Thanks so much, Kristin!

Congrats! I forgot all about that Pauline Oliveros — fits in well with Abraham Maslow: “The most mature human beings are also childlike.”
Being ok with discomfort Is a super power for sure!

Thank you, Valentina — and, yes, isn't that Collier Schorr idea lovely? I think it's really true.
